Eemagin Publishers (formerly FictionbyDavid Publishers) is a Lagos-based publishing company incorporated in January 2024.
Our mission is to serve local and global audiences with high-quality fiction and nonfiction, primarily focusing on discovering and nurturing aspiring African-based writers. We recognise that for many talented writers, the opportunity to be published remains out of reach, not due to a lack of talent or creative drive, but because the literary playing field is often uneven.
At Eemagin Publishers, we are committed to levelling that field by offering a platform where overlooked voices are steered towards the recognition they deserve.
Ultimately, we aim to enrich reading experiences locally and globally by driving a vibrant infusion of fresh, talented voices from across the African continent.
We are currently based in Lagos and Nottingham, UK.

When Bolu Da Silva’s father—the renowned Barrister Seni Da Silva—leaps from the Third Mainland Bridge one fateful afternoon, the world rushes to fill the silence he leaves behind with noise: scandal, speculation, and online smears. But Bolu knows the man behind the headlines—a brilliant lawyer, a devoted father, and a man quietly battling chronic mental health struggles—struggles Bolu himself has inherited.
Grieving and desperate to protect his father’s legacy, Bolu finds himself silenced by his mother’s obsession with appearances and societal approval. Yet one confession refuses to fade—a whispered admission from his father revealing the existence of a daughter besides Bisi—a sister Bolu has never met.
Though sworn to secrecy at the time, Bolu embarks on a quest for truth after his father’s death—a journey that leads him into a world of buried betrayals, long-held secrets, and painful revelations. As the embers of his father’s past begin to glow, Bolu must confront the flames of a truth that could consume everything he thought he knew.
DKA’s Embers is a searing exploration of family, legacy, generational mental health struggles, and the cost of silence—where some secrets won’t stay buried, and some fires refuse to die.
Embers will be available in most major bookstores and digital platforms across Nigeria, Ghana, Rwanda, and South Africa, as well as on major global digital selling platforms, from Friday, 30th August, 2025.
